A Little about Lisa

I was born in St. Petersburg Florida, but love mountains and cool weather, go figure! I look forward to fall most of all, with it's colors, smells and festivals. On the first cool day of fall I'm filled with a happiness that has been dormant throughout the long, hot summer. It's as if I suddenly come alive again!

Although illustrating is my life, I also teach art classes for both children and adults. It's so great to see a spark in a students eye, indicating that they 'get it' and they are inspired! Nothing is more gratifying then receiving thanks from a student for helping them achieve personal success.

I'm also the developer and moderator of the wonderful, "Yellow Brick Road", a privacy-protected critique site for serious children's book writers. The YBR has been in existence for three years, and is still going strong! We have over 25 traditionally published writers from all over the world, many of which have won literary awards. I am proud to be among of this accomplished group of professionals.

In addition, I am the developer and co-moderator for, "The Visual Storyteller's Studio", a revolving on-line illustration gallery. The illustrations displayed on the VSS are provided by over 40 of the nations best professional illustrators. The images change daily, to provide a different experience each time a visitor stops by. Membership to the studio is free for everyone, including the participating illustrators.

It was my vision to have a place on the Internet where children, parents, teachers, art lovers, and publishing professionals can view the newest and best that these illustrators have to offer. If is free of the usual, annoying advertisements that are found on other sites, as it is designed specifically for viewing pleasure and educational information. I am very proud to be affiliated with the VSS, at www.theVSS.org.

I'm sure you noticed upon your arrival, I love music as well. I'm always amazed at how music defines where we are in time. The songs I have chosen for this blog always bring back fond memories for me. I hope that when you hear them in the future, you'll be reminded of the day that you found me and my little peaceful spot for sharing. Thanks for stopping by!

Warm wishes, Lisa
